2 Days

No Mess

No sanding or stripping, and no need to remove doors & drawers

Kitchens are ready to use immediately after work is complete

Our process can restore most kitchens in just 2 days

How our process works

Step 1: Clean

We start our process with a thorough cleaning to remove dirt, grease and food particles.

Step 2: Restore

We restore color to damaged areas by blending them in with stains and colorants that we mix and match ourselves.

Step 3: Protect

We seal the wood with a clear acrylic coating that bonds to the existing finish. We also apply extra coats of protection over areas that receive the most wear and tear in the kitchen. With proper care our finish can last for decades!

No need to empty your cabinets

Because our process is so clean, you won't need to completely empty your cabinets to prepare your kitchen.

No Odor

All our stains and finishes have almost no odor and are low VOC, meaning that you won't need to leave the house or worry about lingering smells.

Reduce your Impact

You'll help preserve our forests by keeping your cabinets out of a landfill. There are other environmental benefits to our service too: Our restoration process only uses about 10% of the liquid material usually needed to paint or refinish cabinets, making it the most sustainable option available. The coatings we use also comply with California's strict low-VOC regulations that are put in place to protect air quality.

Long Lasting Finish

With proper care, our finish can last for decades - not weeks or months

Tough where it counts

High use areas get the extra protection they need to last through years of wear & tear.

Water Resistant

Our coating helps to seal and protect your woodwork from future water and moisture damage.

Low Maintenance

You don't need to repeatedly apply wood oils or polishes to maintain our finish. Just clean with a 1:1 mixture of white vinegar and water whenever they need cleaning.

Works on all types of wood

Our process works on all types of wood, including veneer and plywood.

    FAQ

During my kitchen remodel, when should I have the cabinets restored? Do I do countertops, floors, or walls first?

Cabinets can be restored before or after the other projects are done - we recommend you do whatever best fits your schedule.

If you choose to restore the cabinets first:
    • You won't need to worry about your cabinets during countertop and flooring installation. Professionals will make sure the cabinets are preserved during the remodel, since most of the time they're installing countertops and flooring around brand new cabinets anyway.
    • If you're having painting done or are doing it yourself, we recommend using Yellow FrogTape to protect your cabinets. You can find it in most hardware stores and online!
    • If you're planning on doing flooring / countertops yourself and you need advice on protecting your cabinets, contact us and we'll help you out!
If you choose to restore the cabinets after your remodel:
    • We always protect your kitchen with towels, tarps and tape to leave the area clean after the job is done.
Can you remove the yellowing from my cabinets?

Not really. It's normal for certain woods to amber as they age (especially Maple and Oak). Our restoration process will blend in damaged areas with the same color as the surrounding wood so you get a consistent look throughout the kitchen. The only way to get rid of the yellowing is through traditional refinishing (not a service we offer), but your cabinets will likely become yellow again in a few years as they age.

If you're not happy with the color of your cabinets, we recommend you check out our restaining service or our painting service - both of these will change the color of your cabinets and remove the yellow 80's look. Check out our other services here: Restaining

My cabinets are painted and I want to go back to the original wood look. Can you do that?

No - we don't do any stripping or sanding, which is more in the line of traditional refinishing. There are options if you're looking for someone to do this kind of work for you though. Sometimes furniture repair and restoration shops will take on kitchen cabinet jobs, but don't be surprised if it costs the same as new cabinets! Labor costs for this kind of work are very high.

We strongly recommend you look into repainting your cabinets a different color instead of doing one of the above options. The price will be reasonable, and you can still get a great look in your kitchen. This is a service we offer - check it out here: Painting

Can you make my cabinets a lighter color?

No - because our process works without stripping or sanding, we won't be removing the original color from the cabinets. If your goal is to do this, you'll need to look at traditional refinishing (not a service we offer).

Because of the high labor cost for traditional refinishing, the most cost effective way to lighten up your kitchen is to have the cabinets painted, which is a service we offer. You can learn more about our service here: Painting

Do I need to be present for the duration of the project?

We'll need you to be present when we do the test area and at the end when the project is completed so we can do the walk-through. We are bonded and insured! Some customers leave us a house key so we can complete the job while they're at work. It's up to you to decide what you're most comfortable with.
